- Item3-D Dynamic Structural Design For Mecca Commercial Building(2014) Samir Mizyed; Osama Qashou; Osama Masarweh; Muhammed Jarrar; Abdel-Razzaq TouqanThis project mainly is a structural analysis and design of Mecca Commercial Building building which lies in Sufian street. The building consists of nine floors and will be used primarily as offices and commercial stores. The design will be accomplished according to the ACI-318-08 code, and the structural analysis program SAP2000 14 will be used for the analysis and design. Moreover, hand calculations will be a verification and preliminary design tool. The project will include a detailed design of all structural elements in the building such as slabs, beams, columns and footings. Furthermore, it will include a 3D-designed model for the whole building and a dynamic analysis will be done in order to study the behavior under earthquake. Since we assumed that the foundation was rigid when we designed the building and that the building was rigid when we designed the foundation we will also perform a soil structure interaction study to explain the results we got. The importance of the project resides in the difficulty of connecting stories of different uses. A project may have what is considered a good design and yet problems will arise when attempting to connect it with the other stories. We aim to solve this problem by starting with the form first and then the function (if time permits).
- Item3D analysis & design of ZAMAZM commercial center considering static and dynamic loads(2014) Adel Saleem Yasin; Mohammed Wahesh; Tariq Waheeb Al-hoor; Mahmud M.S. DwaikatThis project aims to design ZAMZAM building which is a multi-story commercial building that lies in Nablus-Rafedia. The building consists of an eleven stories and has a plane area of about 591 m2/floor, as shown in the figure 1.1. The first two basements will be used as parking garages. A height of 3m is going to be used for all stories. The floor will be designed to carry a dead load consisting of the own weight of the slab and a super imposed dead load of 300Kg/m2, in addition to a distributed Live loads depends on the usage of each floor, since we have a garages, warehouses, offices, and residential units. The building will be first designed statically for the gravity loads, and then dynamic analysis will be performed for the seismic loads. The project will be conceptually proportioned and then analysed under the static loads. It will be designed also for earthquake. We will make preliminary design for some elements, and then we will analyse it using SAP2000 program. We will compare between two alternatives (one-way solid slab, and one-way ribbed slab) then we will choose the best alternate based on deflection and total weight of building. Detailing of structural elements will be provided after we take the response of earthquake loads. The building is a residential building which is a common type in Palestine. The building has many interesting features such as different structural systems (long cantilevers), and irregularities. This will help us to be more familiar with these challenges. In this report we will discuss in the first stage (Static Loads) the analysis of building under static loads. To do so, we will build a 3D model using SAP2000 program, and do the required checks for the model, like period, compatibility, stress-strain relationships, and other checks. Then we will show a preliminary design for some structural elements based on the static analysis results. After that in the second phase (Dynamic Loads) we will analyse the building using a 3D model under the earthquake loads, and make final design for the structural elements based on this analysis. Also we will discuss the results we obtain in this report.
- Item{3D analysis & design of ZAMAZM commercial center considering static and dynamic loads(2015) Adel Saleem Yasin; Tariq Waheeb Al-hoor; Mohammed Wahesh; Mahmud M.S. DwaikatZamzam commercial center is a building located in Nablus-Rafedia, and its function is mainly includes offices, residential, and commercial purpose. Its composed of 11 stories; with an average surface area of the building is 591m2/floor. With 3 m height. In this report we will outline the design phase of the building. In the conceptual design phase, we dimensioned the building using initial dimensions by strength and serviceability criteria suggested by the codes for static loads. The second phase is to conduct the 3-D modeling using SAP2000, and analysis to check and confirm the adequacy of the initial dimensions subjected to the static loads. In the next phase we will include the effect of lateral loads represented by earthquake loads, and check again the adequacy of the structural dimensions, and initial design to resist the dynamic loads.

Minaret has 36 m high from ground and its base area about 10m2 The soil bearing capacity of the site of our project 250 kg/ m2. In the structural design it is required to focus on designing a safe structure without compromising the desired function and trying to develop an economical design that meets the special needs of architectural design. A mathematical model representing the real structure will be made. The analysis of a 2D and 3D structural model for the building under static loads (static mode) will be made. The analysis will be verified using conceptual or manual calculations for 1D model. Detailed design using manual and a software program like SAP will also be presented. In The of minaret separately considered in this project has a height of 36 m and it designed as a divided from mosque structure and will appear as attached to the mosque structure by using earthquake joint The strategy followed in the design of minaret is to calculate wind and earthquake load respectively and decide about the load combination which will be used in analysis using SAP2000 program and checks to be ready for design

- Item3D Dynamic And Static Design For Residential Building(2012) Ahmad Taher; Jihad Husam; Mohammad kayed; Osama huseen; Wael Abu asabStructural engineering is one of the most important approaches in civil engineering since it specialized in providing safe structures for the human beings since it is not enough to design beautiful building architecturally but we have also to satisfy safety for our structures. So the structures must be designed to be able to resist all potential loads that may be subjected to , so the structure must be designed to carry its own weight, superimposed and live loads also dynamic loads will be considered like earthquake and wind loads. Structural modeling is extremely essential approach in structural engineering since structural modeling deals with representing the physical model in reality into mathematical model that we can analyze and design. So in modeling as we became more closer to reality our design will be more safe , sufficient and economic. project description The project is structural analysis and design for the Dr. Fahid Abu Zanit building. The building is located in Nablus city but it has not constructed yet. It is a residential building consists of 15 stories , the first one is a garage and all other stories will be used as residential apartments . The area of this building is (530m2).

- Item3D Dynamic Evaluation of Abu Sair Building(2014) Ahmad Mezyed; Baha' Ahmad; nader Nour; Montaser "Qasem Sulayman"; Abdel-Razzaq TouqanRecently the voices of the decision makers have been raised in warning people from a coming destructive earthquake. Since Palestine had faced two major earthquakes in 1837 and 1927 which are expected to hit again in the near future but only Allah knows when and where. Meanwhile we are quite sure that those earthquakes will create great destruction in terms of money, failures of structures and the most critically is loss of lives. We all know that the best solution in dealing with natural phenomena is by avoiding them and still away from standing against their effect, but in our case earthquakes will hit our homes, schools, mosques and hospitals, it will destroy the infrastructure the power stations, water and wastewater networks, pollutants will attach people and diseases will spread and start killing them if even they still alive. However, this chain of destruction will start from failure of structures. In fact to be able to understand all these processes and to design our buildings properly, we try to give a brief summary to all the required steps starting by determining the vulnerability of the building, going through the designing process and finally the retrofitting procedures that fit the building conditions. On one hand, these procedures will lead us to have a better understanding and good expected behavior of the overall system against earthquakes. On the other hand, it will increase the ability of the building to withstand against the lateral loads effect.
