- ItemSpeed drive for three-phase induction motor(2009) Mutaz S. Al-Sheikh; Khalid hammodeh; Marwan Mahmoudthe aim of this project is to build three sinosoidal wave with multi frequencies we need to drive an induction motor and control its speed .this idea is good to the factories which use the motors in its production (reduce or increase the speed of the motor at the same torque).
- ItemActive Noise Reduction(2009) Ahlam Snouber; Safa Hashaiki; Jamal KhroushehThe idea behind this project is that by picking up extraneous noise with a microphone on a pair of headphones, inverting that noise signal with a circuit, and playing the inverted signal back through the headphones' speakers, the two signals will add together to zero and cancel the noise. The circuit's input is the noise received by the microphones which are mounted on the headphones. The circuit's output is the inverted noise, and this output go to the headphones' speakers along with a "line-in" that could be the music you would usually be playing through your headphones. Noise cancellation is an important concept to the improvement of our hearing as electronic technology (and the hum it makes) becomes more wide-spread. As we found, perfecting a sound-cancelling technique is difficult because of the precision and sensitivity required-- but the benefits of a simply built system like ours are also important. The electronics consist of three op-amp circuits: a non-inverting pre-amp, a phase-inverter, and another inverting amplifier. The noise we hear is in stereo, as are the headphones, so the sound-cancelling headphones have two microphones and two circuits in parallel.
- ItemANALYSIS OF THE OPERATING CONDITION OF Qalqilia ELECTRICAL NETWORK(2009) Fadi Bassam Sabri Mahmoud; Belal Abed Alkareem Abu Shar; Maher Khammash (Department Head)Due to the Israeli occupation Palestine has not yet a unified power system; the existing networks are local low voltage distribution networks. The main supply for electrical distribution networks in the West Bank and Gaza is the Israeli Electrical Company (IEC).The voltages of the existing distribution networks are 0.4, 6.6, 11, 22 , and 33 KV . IEC supplies electricity to the electrified communities by 22 or 33 KV by overhead lines . Electricity is purchased from IEC and then distributed to the consumers. The results of the survey indicated that 99.6%of households in the Palestinian Territory were connected to the public electricity network in April 2008 , where this percentage was 99.3% during April 2006, and was 97.2% during July 2005, while it was 97.2% during the same month1999 . 0.3% have no electricity services, 0.1% of the households have their own generators. From the results of the survey, it is noted that south of the West Bank has the lowest percentage of households connected to electricity network (99.0%). The situation is different in Gaza Strip which has 99.6% of the households connected to electricity network during April 2006.
- ItemInductive Link communication (car barking identification)(2009) Asad Faraj El-Bizreh; Belal Bani Jaber; Mothana Hakawati; Mazen RasekhThe project is essentially a practical application on the car park (Garage), which consists of the process of communication between a transmitter located inside the car and a receiver is under the ground (in the entrance of the car park(Garage)) . As a result of this contact the gate(door) of the car park (Garage) will open automatically. where the transmitter is inside the car and each car has a specific code and this code will be sent in a continuous from a transmitter system , and when the car come to the entrance of the car park (Garage) the transmitter sends a code of the car by a magnetic field to the receiver located under the ground, as the receiver receives a code of the car and check if this code was one of the existing codes which are allowed to enter the car park, if the car was carrying the code which is allowed to enter then the receiver give an order to open the gate(door) of the car park to the car, and if the code was not part of this codes (codes which are allowed to enter the gate) then the door remains closed and the car dont enter the car park(Garage). The first idea : The Final result :

- ItemWireless weather station(2009) Abdulmjeed nader; Imad Jmal Mohamed RabayaaThe personal weather station market is booming. Advances in manufacturing and electronics have put professional-grade weather data collection tools within reach of amateur weather enthusiasts. Many enthusiasts freely publish their collected weather data on the Internet. Professional meteorologists use the data collected by the amateur weather enthusiasts to tune regional forecasts. Sometimes enthusiasts provide the only weather data for a remote town or region. Current offerings in the marketplace do not offer an integrated solution to weather data collection. Consumers must choose hardware from one manufacturer and then make sure that a software package exists that will support their station hardware. This situation is confusing and expensive for the consumer. Low-cost weather station hardware is usually not calibrated, but offers reasonable accuracy. High-cost weather station hardware can usually be calibrated and often features adjustable calibration. Wireless sensor packs are also popular because of the easy installation they offer the consumer. However, the sensor packs often require frequent maintenance. The weather station will provide a reasonably priced hardware solution (less than 400 $ US) with integrated data logging software for the consumer. The battery life for the weather stations wireless pack will be about three years, and the sensors will feature adjustable calibration. The wireless sensor pack will be easy for the consumer to install because it requires no wires to function. The indoor portion of the weather station will feature an LCD for easy access to current conditions and a PC-link to upload information to the consumers personal computer or laptop. The data, once uploaded, will be available for the life of the weather station and beyond. Low-costs and high-accuracy will be achieved by lowering component count wherever possible. Careful elimination of discrete resistor and operational amplifier networks with software will have a favorable impact on overall product cost and accuracy

- ItemCombination Lock Opener(2009) Lina Shaer; Hala Omar; Samer MayalehThe goal of project was to create a device that opens a standard Masterlock combination lock without knowing the combination to the lock. First we researched a method that one could use to open one of these locks by hand without knowing the combination to the lock. After we mastered this technique we created a machine that could implement the strategy so that one could use the machine to open the combination lock without needing to master the technique. Our final product achieved this goal, and opens the lock without knowing the combination beforehand, displaying the correct combination to the lock when it is finished.
- ItemPV I-V CHARACTERISTIC TESTER(2009) Tamer Jaber; Marwan N. HaddadMeasuring the IV characteristics is of high importance since it can be considered as a quality and performance certificate for each PV generator. The most precise and inexpensive measuring method is represented in capacitor charging by the PV generator. Using the equivalent circuit of the PV generator with a capacitor as load and applying transient analysis on the circuit, we obtain the capacitor charging voltage and current as a function of time, as well as their differentials as a function of short circuit current and capacitor size. The figure below is the Electronic circuit of the project The power electronic circuit of this device consists of capacitors, resistors, special resistors and switches as shown in the figure below the capacitors is chosen up to measure a cell have a rated 22 open circuit voltage and 3.5 short-circuit current and from equation in chapter 3 we use 14 mF capacitors bank consist of 5 capacitors The switches here can be relays or transistors of ordinary switches (pushbutton)RL is 10 K and that to protect the capacitors from the reverse current Rshunt is an special resistor its convert the current which follow in it to mV in constant ratioThe sequence of measuring:Before of all we must close switch 3 to rest the capacitors form any charge they may contain then we open switch 3 and close switch 1 to start the charging of capacitors in time constant determined by the capacitors and during this operation we measure the open circuit voltage after we reduce it by constant factor using potentiometer by the inputs leg of the pic to the ADC then in 8 bit though the parallel port to the software. When the capacitor become fully charged we short the cell using switch 2 to measure the short circuit current using Rshunt which convert the amperes in mile volts to transfer it through the PIC and parallel port as the voltage transferred. Also we need form this circuit the radiation and the temperature of the cell and the ambient. To measure the temperatures we use a sensor (LM355) and cable to enter the data to the software directly as the following equation:Tamb=25V/ 2.982To measure the radiation we make an equivalent sensor consists of thin film cell with an adapter consists of two terminals and a resistor 100 1 wattWe test this cell by comparing its reading in volts to the reading of solar meter and we find that the relation is liner in this equation:G= 227.6V- 69.62After all the inputs received to the Computer the C# program will do all the calculations fill factor , efficiency, Vmpp, Impp, Isc, Voc, Pmax, Radiation, Tamb and Tcell.
- ItemMonitoring and Controlling System in a Chicken Farm(2009) Eman Madi; Maysoon Mohanna; Jamal KhroushehIn our project we aim to control such place and monitor it by making direct communication between the Mobile and Microcontroller (PIC 16F877) , in our case a chicken farm in order to help the owners to control the farm temperature degree with respect to weather conditions, and it can be use in security purposes such as monitor any unfamiliar movement in the farm by using modern technologies especially SMS technology. We used the PIC to make to decision where the voltage and current go before. The PV panel we used was manufactured by ARCO it was amorphous 25 cells connected in series and we built PWM charge regulator that send pulses to get an idea about the voltage of the battery. This project is helpful for both the environment and the consumer, It saves us money and no pollution. Also, this project incorporated both of our specialties in Electrical Engineering: power and circuitry. This project can be used in many places like the factories and buildings, cars and many vehicles
- ItemTraffic Guide using Wireless Radio(2009) Diana Qassam; Razan Ghannam; Heyam Shamasneh; Allam Mousa (OnLeave)Traffic jam is one of the most global problems that faced all over the world in the last 50 years, and its not concerned in several country, it is found everywhere we go, there must be a traffic problem in all cities in the world.Traffic shows a great problem in the capitals of the countries. As an example is Palestine, the traffic is a very serious problem that can't be ignored, the problem increased in unusual way, this is because the rapid increase of the vehicles number and the little size and poor quality of streets. However this project seems to be a little solution for traffic problem, the main idea of the project is to reduce the traffic jam on the streets, circles and traffic lights by guiding drivers where the traffic jam is found. As a result driver could avoid going through the traffic jam and use another way if it is applicable. The guiding process tool will be the car radio which will be used as a receiver for the information that should guide the driver to the roads he should follow up to avoid streets traffic jamming. This idea should be applied as collaboration with the traffic police; since they are the main source of knowing the situation of roads and where the traffic jam can be found as they are spread around the cities and main roads, by this mean they could guide the drivers to the streets they should follow up to avoid the traffic jam.
