dc.description.abstractThe development of high-efficiency electric machines has become increasingly important in modern energy systems, particularly in applications involving renewable energy and electric mobility. Axial Flux Brushless (BLDC) machines offer several advantages over conventional radial flux machines, including higher power density, compact structure, and improved efficiency. However, accurately evaluating their performance requires precise measurement of key parameters, especially torque, which plays a critical role in determining system efficiency. This project presents the design and implementation of an Axial Flux Motor and Generator integrated with an embedded torque sensing mechanism for performance and efficiency evaluation. The system is designed to operate in both motor and generator modes, enabling comprehensive analysis under different operating conditions. The embedded torque sensing unit allows real-time measurement of torque, providing accurate data for efficiency calculations. The project follows a systematic engineering approach, including electromagnetic design, mechanical construction, and system integration. Simulation tools and analytical methods were used to optimize the machine design, while experimental testing was conducted to validate the results. The system incorporates appropriate control techniques, data acquisition methods, and measurement instruments to ensure reliable and precise evaluation. Overall, this work provides a practical and efficient platform for analyzing axial flux machines and contributes to improving their design and application in energy conversion systems. The integration of embedded torque sensing enhances the accuracy of performance evaluation, making the system a valuable tool for research and development in electrical machine engineering.
