| dc.description.abstract | HopeBridge is an integrated digital platform designed to support people with special needs and their families by bridging the gap between healthcare, social services, and community support in Palestine. The platform brings together multiple user roles, including individuals with special needs, parents, volunteers, specialists, centers, companies, and system administrators, within a unified and accessible environment. The system provides a wide range of services such as specialist appointment booking, volunteer assistance requests, accessible places discovery, events management, job opportunities, real-time chat, and smart notification systems. Each user role is supported through a dedicated dashboard that offers functionalities tailored to its specific needs, ensuring ease of use and effective interaction across the platform. In addition to these services, HopeBridge integrates an AI-powered training system designed to support people with special needs and parents in learning and practicing sign language. The AI system analyzes hand and finger shapes from sign language gestures and translates them into 11 corresponding alphabetical characters, providing an interactive and educational learning experience. This feature is also made available to volunteers who wish to learn or improve their sign language skills, enhancing communication and inclusion within the community. HopeBridge focuses on improving accessibility, service coordination, and communication by leveraging modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, real-time data handling, geolocation services, and role-based access control. The platform also supports multilingual interfaces to enhance usability for a wider range of users. The system is developed using MongoDB as the database, Node.js with Express.js for the backend services, and Flutter for the mobile application, providing a scalable, secure, and high- performance cross-platform solution. Through HopeBridge, the project aims to enhance the quality of life for people with special needs and promote stronger community integration through technology-driven solutions. | |
