Abstract
Peat is one of the remnants of the olive pressing process that can be exploited and converted into a flammable material to become one of the alternative sources of energy. It is obtained in the fall or early winter after the olive harvest and pressing season. Fortunately, modern mills sort olives from peat separately. What makes it easy to use. Our project studies the feasibility of establishing a factory for peat presses in Palestine. In this project, the importance of peat exploitation was highlighted. In this study, we focused on the production line operations for the production of peat presses in various briquettes. Since agriculture is one of the most important components of the Palestinian economy, and it can be said that olive cultivation specifically in Palestine represents the vital nerve of agriculture, Palestinian environmental studies in the field of olives have become some of the advanced olive products, whether at the level of using olive peat, or processing olives, or even extracting raw materials such as those in OLEUROPEIN). The production represents 57% of the cultivated lands in the occupied Palestinian territories, with the total area planted with olive trees amounting to 498 thousand dunums, while nearly 11 million trees are in the West Bank and the governorate. Oil, olive pomace, zebra and other substances that can turn into a disaster unless they are exploited. These factors lead to thinking about building the factory and increasing the demand for production. After describing the benefits of olive pomace (peat), the amount of mold consumed in some areas in Palestine was estimated. The concept of market share is described and calculated using four different scenarios. In addition, emphasis was placed on how to make peat briquettes from start (raw material) to end (final product), knowledge of production equipment and manufacturing machinery, their costs and characteristics. A layout of the plant is designed which includes warehouses, staff offices, arrangement of equipment and machinery, as well as calculating the area of each section of the plant based on the 30% market share scenario.
