| dc.description.abstract | This project is an Al-Aqsa school located in Jerusalem. It consists of six floors with different uses, total area is about 1514 m2. The school is designed over a soil that partly covered with pale yellow clayed sand and partly with pale brown very soft rock marl with a bearing capacity 200 kN/m2 according to the geotechnical investigation. To represent the building as it is in reality a 3-D structural model is prepared. The project will be analyzed and designed for both static and dynamic loads. The design will be achieved using two methods, manual for 1-D representation and using computer program design modeling (like ETABS) for the 3-D structure. After verifying the results of ETABS, the evaluation of the capacity of individual structural members will be done as ACI 318-14 specifications and for seismic design IBC 2015 will be used. In this project, from the structural design we expect to face a problem due to discontinuity of columns and irregularity of the building vertically and horizontally. The expected loads will be put on the structural elements and an analysis process will be used to find the internal forces of the structure parts, then comparing it with the capacity of these parts by sensual and analogical checks. Detailed drawings of each structural element will be done using AutoCAD program. From all that process, we look forward to satisfy strength, serviceability and stability standards. | en_US |
