dc.description.abstract | Recently, hotels play a very important part of any country's economy and culture. Around the world, hotels have different categories, the stars rating system ranks between (1-5) stars, this category differs between countries but it defined by some factor like price, service, food and enmities. This project has an analysis and redesign for Golden tree hotel, it’s a 4 stars hotel located at Nablus city. The old design had 6 floors, each floor had 826.43 area, it contained hotel functions like: bedrooms, reception, administration rooms, swimming pools, storages and garages in addition to other functions like: restaurants and wedding holes. At first stage, the hotel has been analysed from different aspects, as a result, different design problems was detected like: Architectural problems, for example: non-sufficient spaces Areas and car barking, low ceilings and bad circulation. Structural problems like: non-sufficient area of steel and concrete and the old design didn’t match seismic design aspects. As for Electrical problems, there were lighting problems and non-sufficient number of power sockets. Mechanical problems like: bad HVAC system with no ventilation and bad return systems and non-sufficient water supply system. Finally Safety problems like: there was no emergency exits and smoke disposal system. At second stage, there was a redesign for Golden tree hotel, the new design solved old design problems in different design fields, as for Architectural design, the new design contained new needed spaces that old design didn’t have like: clinic, rubbish and linear shut, also spaces areas and heights were modified so it could deal with standards, sufficient number of garages and better circulation between spaces was found. As for Structural design, the new structural design was enhanced, so that elements can handle its loads and deals with seismic requirements. New Electrical design has better lighting systems in all spaces, good wiring connections for different systems and the power consumption of the building has been reduced from 360.05 KWh/ to 160.8 KWh/ . New Mechanical system had better Hvac system with good distribution for supply, return and fresh air to achieve good mixing and better air quality, also better water supply and drainage system was design to deal with customer’s needs. Finally, better fire preventing, suppression, alarming and escape systems were found in the hotel to save guests lives. Various soft wares were used to find the new design such as: AutoCAD, Revit, Design Builder, Dialux, Ecotict, insole and Etabs. In conclusion, at the end of this project, Golden tree hotel had a new integrated, environmentally friendly, economic design that solved most of old design problems, deals with standards, and archives customer’s needs, comfort safety and luxury. | en_US |
