Increased plastic consumption has resulted in high amounts of plastic waste ending up in the environment. The single-use plastic bag is a particularly problematic waste. Because of their extremely low recyclability rate, plastic bags remain a significant source of land-based litter and marine debris and impair storm water management systems. They also reduce the effectiveness of automated recycling systems. This study is an attempt to determine the impact of using plastic bags in Nablus. To do so, surveys will be distributed for consumers including a wide range of ages “students, families, etc. Meetings will be arranged with the owners of big supermarkets. GIS will be used to study the spatial distribution of the response. SPSS will be used to analyze the results, and risk assessment analysis, and finally life cycle assessment of one of the alternatives will be conducted. The ideas in this project are popular in Europe and other countries for a long time, but it would be the first time to apply in Palestine-Nablus as a case study.en_US
