dc.description.abstract4G LTE, or fourth-generation long term evolution, sometimes is referred to as “the gold standard of wireless technology,” thanks to its ability to deliver both speed and power in more places of the world. Specifically, 4G stands for the fourth generation of data technology for cellular networks, as defined by the radio sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-R). Interference is a stochastic signal that disturbs the reception of an intended signal at a node in a network. Interference in 4G is caused when users in different neighbor cells attempt to use the same resource at the same time. In this project we study 4G LTE from a different perspective. The main aspect of our project is to study interference in 4G and possible ways of reducing it. We started our case study with exploring three possible ways of reducing interference; the first regarding resource allocation management for each user, the second regarding the transmission process between the cells in terms of coordinated multipoint and the final approach was to study the load balance of each base station for a carrier. The purpose of our graduation project is to learn the process of conducting a research. We understand that in a short period of time we will only evaluate the case studies and initial scenarios, and the plan is to continue with our research to get to results in terms of which scenario reduces interference the most.en_US
