ABSTRACT:
Water is very important for all the requirements of living such as drinking,
washing, irrigation, agriculture, and industry. So, it is necessary to keep the human
alive. But on the other side the consumption of water means a production of
wastewater which is must be drained correctly in efficient wastewater collection
network. In this project a part of the eastern area in Nablus City that comprised
mainly from Amman-street specifically from Othman Mosque all the way down to
Al-Ghawi roundabout has been chosen because of the wastewater overflow from the
manholes.
For the best design of a sewer network, first of all, we require a good
knowledge about the wastewater generation, which depends on population and water
consumption. Secondly, it requires sufficient knowledge in hydraulic principles.
Finally, this design needs a practice and a good knowledge in using sewer design
networks software and processing tools for data analysis such as: SewerCAD,
AutoCAD, GIS and Excel. Two phases have been done in this project, starting with
the analysis for the current network which shows that some parts of the sewer pipes in
the network must be enlarged, that lead us to the design phase for the future network.
The outcomes for this phase tell that different dimensions for the sewer pipes should
be used.
Finally, cost estimation process was made shows that the estimated total cost
needed for this redesigning equal to 676,467$.
