Abstract
On the day of every college student, it is normal for the student to get rid of the waste of eating and
drinking. As a result, the university has a lot of waste that accumulates in its corridors, and because
hygiene is a part of faith, we decided to recycle this waste in order to get rid of it as best as possible,
recycling needs to classify this waste, which is why our project aims to do just that by creating a smart
trash can. Among the most important characteristics of our project are the classification of garbage
according to its type and the use of solar energy instead of electricity or other energy to provide energy
to our project, and also opening the trash can using touch, as well as the possibility of adding any other
feature that enhances the strength of our project depending on the time and the availability of other
features. In order to analyze the trash in the university using machine learning and image processing, we
will collect the majority of the trash discarded there. We will then use image processing to classify the
trash, then gather the necessary pieces, understand how it works, and build and program the system
based on its function. We believe we are the first team in our department of Computer Engineering to
follow an idea similar to ours
