Abstract
A construction project can be defined as a temporary endeavour by which material, equipment and machinery are assembled into a permanent facility.
The construction sector is one of the most important sectors in the Palestinian economy. It can be considered the driving force of its evolution. Due to the large contribution of construction sector in the Palestinian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and increased complexity of construction projects, the management of these projects has become urgent.
Management can be defined as the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of resources to achieve the desired goals. In this research, we are going to study the project of constructing the Palestinian ministry of public works and Housing.
The suggested methodology of this project will be:
1. Studying the construction documents of the project, 2. Estimating the time schedule for the project using Primavera, 3. Conducting systematic quantity survey for the project, 4. Estimating the detailed cost for the project, 5. Comparing the estimated time and cost with the actual time and cost and estimate the variance. 6. Analysing the causes of variance.
This study is expected to provide time schedules, total cost required, and making suggestion to solve any problems about time and cost that may occur in any construction project.
