Abstract
This project is about Structural Analysis and Design of Jordan Al-Ahli Bank, which is located in Ramallah and constructed in 2017. This branch is considered as regional management building for all branches in Palestine, which is useful in a city that needs financial services .This project is consisted of 9 floors and roof. The total area of the building is 4928.58 m^2, it contains 4 basement floors, so that provides enough parking spaces for 55 cars in 3 basement floors, each basement floor has an area of 867 m^2 and the other one with an area of 555.3 m^2 used for storage requirements and training center. It also contains the ground and mezzanine floors have an area of 343.23 m^2 each. The other floors have an area of 338.64 m^2, which provide office rooms and meeting halls.
We will cover many aspects in this project, such as project description, computation of loads on the structure, load combinations, hypotheses that is needed to verify and obtain results from design and analysis to compare and check if it is satisfied. The objective is to carry out analysis and design for a 3D model of the building that provides safe and efficient design for all structural elements such as slabs, beams, columns, shear walls and footings, also consider all possible loads on the structure, following structural codes and using computer programs and check results manually then to provide practical and fully detailed drawings for all structural elements.
The methodology that is followed to achieve goals of this project by studying and understanding each architectural plans and details of the structure, estimating the different loads on the structure such as gravity and lateral loads, then assuming the preliminary dimensions for structural elements and modeling a 3D model of the structure using computer programs such as SAP2000, SAFE and ETABS based on global structural codes like ACI 318-14 and IBC2012.
After that, analysis results are obtained and compared with manual checks to ensure that results are correct and satisfied, and then these results used to design all elements and compute reinforcement. Finally detailed drawings are made for all structural elements using AutoCAD.
