| dc.description.abstract | The wastewater results from daily use of water in our houses. The wastewater must be collected by network and then treated in sewage treatment plant. By this way, the environment can be protected, and treated water can be used in watering plants. To collect the wastewater in Bidya, people in this town use cesspits. Cesspits cause many problems, such as pollution of soil, environmental pollution in wadis, damage structures near it, etc.… Our graduation project aims to design wastewater collection network in Bidya town which located in Salfit Governorate. It is a part of a project for Joint Service Council. To achieve this aim, we obtained master plan and other plans from Geomolg, we obtained the average value of water consumption from Bidya municipality and we used software, such as: ArcMap, SewerCAD, and Microsoft Excel. The big challenge in this project is the difficult terrain of the town, so, cover depth of conduits will be high, and also, slope and velocity of several conduits will be high. There will be three service areas, due to the difficult terrain, each of them serviced by wastewater collection network, and discharge the wastewater to specific outfall. These service areas are northern, middle and southern. After we did the design, the result in final model for three zones has 1372 conduits and 1316 manholes. and majority values of velocity and cover depth lies within standards except few conducts can be solved by passing some conduits in private lands or by using hydraulic pumps. Cost estimation of the network is 164$/m. There is another side in our project, it is studying and comparing the consumption of water at schools between Jenin and Qalqilya. To do this, we collect data of water consumption for each school to three study years from municipalities in Jenin and Qalqilya, then we classified schools to many categories. After this, we calculated how much the consumption of water for one student in one day of the study year in each school. We calculate consumption of water for each category, and compare these categories and compare the consumption of water between Jenin and Qalqilya. | en_US |
