Abstract
Residential buildings are an essential reflection of the needs, desires and cultures of the population. They differ in form, style, size and function. There are individual houses, residential apartments, dormitories and hotels, and from here we find a difference in the time of residence, whether permanent or temporary.
In this project, an integrated redesign was carried out for a residential building in the city of Ramallah, which is the Al-Nabali and Al-Faris building. The building consists of seven floors, five of which are residential. The floor contains five residential apartments, in addition to two parking floors. After improvements and modifications to the Graduation Project (1), the project became ten floors, eight of which were residential apartments, with four apartments on each floor, in addition to two parking floors.
In Project (1), five main aspects were considered: architectural, structural, environmental, electromechanical, and quantity estimation. Moreover, the main defects were found and possible improvements were made to achieve the overall comfort of the residents by covering thermal, acoustic and visual comfort as well as the ventilation system. On the architectural side, the movement inside the building was studied and the functional movement was carried out, in addition to studying the (architectural analysis chart). Also from an environmental standpoint, we used 3D simulation software such as Revit that studies many factors affecting the building, such as daylight and thermal comfort.
In this project, an evaluation review of what was implemented in Project (1) will be conducted, delving into precise details in the calculations, and creating comprehensive design and implementation plans based on the integration of all engineering aspects and cost calculations, including the lowest cost, the least time, and the best quality.
These procedures will be done through approved scientific engineering references and codes and applied to manual calculations, engineering simulation programs, or engineering design programs.
