Providing sufficient water of appropriate quality and quantity has been one of the most important issues in human history. Most ancient civilizations were initiated near water sources. As populations grew, the challenge to meet user demands also increased. Today, water supply systems which consists of infrastructure that collects, treats, stores, and distributes water between water sources and consumers is used worldwide. In this project, Beit Furik town was taken to be studied. Beit Furik is a Palestinian town located approximately seven kilometers southeast of Nablus, in Nablus Governorate in the northern West Bank. The town has a total area of approximately 36663 dunum and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, it had a population of 13,477 inhabitants in 2017. Beit Furik's main water source is from a well which was drilled in 1999 in Beit Dajan with GTZ-funding with the purpose of providing water to both Beit Furik and Beit Dajan villages. However, the facility was not developed then because projected yields were much smaller than planned. Later in 2003, the well was rehabilitated and re-tested. Results were promising: the well displayed a long-term production capability of about 50 cubic meters per hour, enough to provide basic water supply of about 70 liters per capita per day to the people of Beit Dajan and Beit Furik. However according to Beit Furik Municipality, nowadays citizens face a water crisis represented by water scarcity especially in summer, lack of water access to highlands and lack of adequate water tanks and artesian wells. The aim of this project is to analyze the existing network and redesign the network to meet the requirements for the next 20 years. This will be done using the WaterCAD software. The final outcome of the project will be a full design of a water network that will meet the future demand requirements and a cost estimate of the water distribution network designed.en_US
