dc.description.abstractA reinforced concrete residential building is to be structurally designed to fulfil the requirements for the second graduation project. The structure consists of 9 stories. First to be the basement which serves as parking for cars, above is the ground floors which contains additional parking lots and two retail shops. The rest of stories will contain residential apartments. The layout of the project, partitions, and functional spaces, in addition to its levels and circulation solutions will be illustrated by provided architectural plans. Proposed structural system will be preliminary designed manually before being modeled in “CSI ETABS” program, the model is to be analyzed and designed, the final design after that will be detailed in structural plans using “Autodesk AutoCAD” software. All calculations will be reported and documented in this thesis. The proposed structural system is two-way solid slab building frame system. The structure will be designed in accordance with “ACI 318-14” for strength and serviceability requirements. Other design considerations are to be explained though the project. The structure is to be designed for seismic loadings for this project.
