Abstract
This project is mainly a static as well as seismic analysis and design for a commercial town center building located in Ramallah city “Rawabi town center” , which consists of six floors , five typical floors and a hall located as the last floor. Following that fact that the building is Design as concrete building, the design will be accomplished according to ACI-318-11 code, while the analysis part will be performed using the structural analysis program “SAP2000” . This report covers the full analysis and design of the structure including slabs, beams, columns, shear walls and foundations. The building was designed for both gravity loads and seismic loads. In the first phase of the project , parts of the structure were analyzed using various methods of analysis. Moreover, several alternatives of slabs types where checked to choose the more effective and economical flooring system which found to be solid slab. Columns and foundations dimensions were also estimated. To provide the building with an adequate earthquake resistance, some modifications on structural configuration were made taking into consideration the architectural drawings. As a result, building behavior was acceptable in accordance with codes requirements
