Abstract
The main aim of this project is to build a computer numerical controlled (CNC) milling machine, with a spindle drill being fed with different speeds, capable of machining a work piece put on a moving work panel, according to a path indicated to it by the computer controlling software (Mach3). The CNC machine is a system that is able to accept numerical control inputs from a computer controlling software, in order to machine a work piece specified by the exact positioning of these inputs. The machine is able to accept commands from the software that provides instructions to control the axes motions, spindle speed and so on. The CNC milling machine importance is being presented by its great advantages in the machining work field, because via CNC machining we can produce a work piece with good quality in less time and effort, as well as better precision and accuracy in dimensions, than via traditional machining. In this project, the main aspects to be covered will be the mechanical, electrical and electronic components and circuitries used to run and control the CNC milling machine, and finally the software and programming with the relevant interfacing.
