Abstract
AL-NAJAH National University is one of the largest universities in Palestine. It is still developing over the years, especially the medical sector. AL-NAJAH Hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in west bank, its located in the northern region in Nablus. The administration of AL-NAJAH University attends to establish nursing college in that region. The plan is to establish the collage, cafeteria, laps and housing. This project will include the housing part of the whole project. The large number of students in the proposed project and the lack of university housings are the reasons behind choosing this idea as a graduation project.
This project has special and specific criteria to form an integrated design for the dorms, and this includes architectural, structural, electrical, environmental, mechanical, and safety aspects. The architectural design takes into consideration the shape of the building, circulation and, and the appropriate space for each room, using computer software (AutoCAD and Revit). As for the environmental aspect the design will include the orientation of the building, thermal masses and type of insulation to achieve environmental requirements .The mechanical system stands for designing suitable HVAC system, water, elevators systems.
In the structural design, the structure will be designed using computer software (SAP), and the analysis will include 3-D model. In addition to that, the electrical design includes lighting and power systems. Finally, for safety design is going to be about emergency exits, alarm system, and fire protection system.
