- ItemThe Impact of Training Courses in The Tasks of Schools Principals in The goverarates of of Schools Principals in The Goverarates of Palestine, from their Point of View(2010) Abeer Al-qaisi; Dr. Ghassan El-HiloThis study aimed to identify the degree of the impact of training courses in of the performance of the tasks of schools principals in the governates of Palestine, from their point of view, in addition the study aimed to test the effect of gender, school stage, qualification, managerial experience and the location of the governate variables on the degree of impact of training courses. The study population consisted of all principals in the public schools in the governorates of the West Bank, who joined the training courses during 2005 until the beginning of 2010. They were (480) principals. The study sample consisted of (157) principals, approximately (32.7%) of the study. To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire based on literature, related studies and consulting with the training managers at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The questionnaire validity was achieved by a panel of judges. The reliability coefficient was computed by Cronbach Alpha equation and it was (0.971). The questionnaire was distributed to a stratified random sample. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study obtained the following results: First: the degree of the impact of training courses in of the performance of the tasks of schools principals in the governates of Palestine, from their point of view, was very high. Second: There are significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the degree of the impact of training courses in of the performance of the tasks of schools principals in the governates of Palestine, from their point of view, compared with accepted standard in education (3.00) in favor of the degree of the impact of training courses in the tasks of schools principals in the governates of Palestine, from their point of view. Third: There are no significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the degree of the impact of training courses in of the performance of the tasks of schools principals in the governates of Palestine, from their point of view, due to gender, school stage and location of the governate. Fourth: There are significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the degree of the impact of training courses in of the performance of the tasks of schools principals in the governates of Palestine, from their point of view, due to qualification, between diploma holders and B.A and over holders in favor of B.A and over holders. And due to managerial experience, between (5 years and less), (6-10) years and (more than 10 years) in favor of (5 years and less), (6-10) years Accordingly to the findings of the study results, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations, including: - Continue to hold training courses for principals, as these courses have a positive impact in the performance of principals of their tasks. - Need for coordination with universities in developing programs and training courses, so that universities and in coordination with the Ministry of Education conduct principals rehabilitation and training. At the end of these courses principals should be granted degrees, especially if courses take long time.
