Abstract
This project aims to help people with hearing and/or speaking disability (deaf-mute) communicate with people without a disability. An electrical glove which could be worn by a deaf-mute person is developed. The glove will help the deaf-mute person translate his/her sign language into text and audio which could be visualized and heard by people without a disability.The project also provides deaf-mute people with a sound recognition feature to help them visualize noise levels on the mobile application in order to keep them safe from any potential dangers. If a doorbell audio or a very loud noise is detected, a red LED will light on the glove alongside a message on the mobile application. For those who dont have a smart phone, a screen will be provided with the glove to display the letters.In our project, Arduino technologies, different types of sensors to detect the hand movements, and Android Studio to develop the mobile application were used. At first we designed the circuit and chose the appropriate equipment and study their datasheets carefully. Then, we gradually started building the hardware, tested it step by step, and wrote its software.
