dc.description.abstractComposite materials are used nowadays in different applications replacing traditional materials due to their high strength to weight ratio. The properties of this material depend on the type of matrix and reinforcement in addition to the adhesion between them which should be able to transfer load between fibers through the used matrix. In this project several attempts were done to improve the interfacial adhesion between E-glass fiber mat and poly propylene by different means; either physical or chemical which may include surface treatment of the fiber by NaoH or incorporation of a third material which could act as a coupling agent such as , silan and poly propylene malice anhydride as coupling agent. Then the composite samples were prepared with different volume fractions using film stacking process by the use of homemade thermal press mold.To examine the improvement degree, mechanical and thermal properties were tested.en_US
