Abstract
Providing social spaces where members of a community tend to gather for group activities is very essential in every neighborhood and increases the quality of life. Community centers thus are considered one of many public services that provide spaces and facilities for group activities. Our project deals with the design standards of successful community centers that present the appropriate environment for different recreational and cultural activities.
Our project locates in Jenin city, at Al-Asker Street. The area is located near to a residential area and near to commercial activities. In addition, the project site is easily accessible as it has a direct connection with the main street; Al-Nasrah Street. The vital location of the project will encourage families to usage its facilities. The main task of the community center is to link generations and provide a place to gain skills and invest free times for the benefit of the community
Our project aims at provide places for several cultural, educational, and recreational activities related to the individual and the whole community for short and long term. These activities have many benefits: Psychological, mental, and social. By participating in the many activities in the center, residents forge bonds with each other. These bonds enhance their interpersonal skills and increase their social network, and improve Communication Skills.
