Abstract
Pressure on landfills is increasing as the population and quality of life continue to increase. As a result, efforts have been directed towards using modern, environmentally friendly and cost effective alternatives at the same time. Healthy burners are one such option. The West Bank suffers from an accumulation of municipal solid waste and environmental problems due to improper disposal methods. This research focuses on the city of Nablus and its north, where waste is disposed of in this city by collecting and transporting it to Zahrat Al-Finjan landfill in Jenin. This study examines the option of adopting a technology to convert waste into electricity, as it will cover the electricity shortage in the governorate, as it will be able to burn 172.5 tons of local solid waste per day, thus serving the northern governorates in this regard. The selling price of the electricity produced is critical to the viability of the plant. This Holocaust will help advance the Palestinian situation, as it will participate in solving many environmental and technical issues. Finally, a complete economic study was conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed plant in Nablus. The analysis was carried out to take into account the expenses paid to operate the incinerator and the selling price of the generated electricity. As a result, we see such a huge investment in both money and technology that it needs government support. According to the analysis, the net profit was estimated at 2.0789 million dollars annually, this option was the best possible alternative, and it is important to emphasize the role of the Palestinian government in such projects to ensure their profitability as well as the sharing of responsibility with project stakeholders. Ultimate cooperation between all parties will lead to the sustainable success and operation of this plant.
