Abstract
The idea of using high power lenses to enhance the traditional solar heater system is new and has many potentials in reducing the amount of wasted energy.
In this project we look at the lenses manufacturing starting with the basic design and how each dimensional parameter affect the lenses power of concentrating to the making methods of the traditional way which require highly technical and expensive equipment and the newly discovered revolutionary methods like the glassomer composite, and we managed to manufacture 105, 7cm lenses with the dimensions of (5 cm diameter and 0.225 cm height).
We compared between a lensed and a flat surface in open and closed systems, in an open system the lenses did not improve the efficiency but slightly reduced it which contradict the results obtained in the previous project [1], the lenses did improve the efficiency of a closed system where the pipes were placed at the lenses focal points.
