In this thesis, we will study balanced model reduction methods for linear dynamical systems. These methods are the Balanced Truncation (BT) and the Singular Perturbation (SP) approximation. The two methods will be implemented to approximate the solution of linear time-invariant (LTI) stable dynamical system with zero initial condition. Some illustrative numerical examples to demonstrate the validity and applicability of these methods will be presented. A comparison between these methods will be carried out.en_US
