Abstract
When anyone want to manufacture any product or starting to Import it in order to trade, he asks himself if that is feasible and profitable or not. In our project we conducted a feasibility study for constructing thermoforming products factory. For a typical feasibility study which starts by the market study, then going through the technical study and it ends by the financial study. After that we judge the feasibility of the project. We conducted a market study which consists of approximating the volume of demand of the thermoforming products such as plates, cups, cans and sweet containers. We made two main questionnaire, one of them conducted with supermarkets owners and other one conducted with the importers and manufacturers. As a result, we approximated the market share for each product whether it is imported or manufactured. We also approximated the total demand volume of each product whether its imported, manufactured or brought from Israel. We defined the factory market share for each product, then got the amount of each product needed to produce per year, after that we conducted the technical study by specifying the needed equipment, resources, facility location , facility layout and the other technical functions needed. According to the market and technical study, we did the financial study. We determined and illustrated all cost consequences on the investment. We distributed the cost per units for each product. Then, we specified the associated profit for the factory. Finally we evaluated the project in term of money using financial indices such as ROR, BEP, NPV and Payback period. We found that constructing a thermoforming manufacturing plant which produces Cups, Cans and their covers, Sweet Containers and Plates is feasible.
