Abstract
In the modern era of business, the retail sector has received a red carpet welcome from the consuming community, and the need for a scheme that facilitates the networking system between the different departments was raised. From this point, leading software companies began to develop a wide spread revolution in the information technology area which is one of the main reasons for developing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Retalix is one of the top ten ERP software packages internationally renowned in the field of retailing . Retalix software was first introduced to Bravo in 2009 while restructuring and re-engineering the processes of the company as well as the organization structure. Using such software was essential in order to facilitate the information flow between the departments and business functions, whether internally between employees and other softwares or externally between the organization and its partners. Bravo is classified and positioned in the A-class category of retailers in Palestine and is also very active on the social and patriotic fronts. Bravo is currently boycotting all Israeli products including those coming from all the illegal settlements. The Palestinian retailing company has been facing many logistical and economical complications on a daily basis due to the occupation and importing restrictions and hence deserves our attention as a leading Palestinian national company. One of the main contributors to Bravos success is applying Retalix ERP software which makes it highly fitting that Bravo is targeted in this case study. This allows conducting a comparative study of applying such a software in one of the major Palestinian retailing ventures, which has a complex supply chain that has used this software to prioritize orders, manage interaction and optimize procedures in the organization. Numerous meticulous case studies have been undertaken about the implementation of ERP software some of which have been mentioned in the literature review ahead. Basic concepts of retailing, enterprise resource planning and supply chain management have been introduced through field studies that have been carried out to compare actual key performance indicators against the theory provided. The knowledge and data gained throughout the 5 years were used to measure the level of efficiency, increase the profitability and reduce the effort, time and cost. A goal has also been set to improve the quality level of processes and the utilization of spaces in the stores and inventories. Furthermore, direct and indirect interactive interviews have been made with lots of experts and managers in order to receive feedback with the impact of applying Retalix on the performance of Bravo throughout a wide range of functions. The assessment has shown transparent profitability and efficiency ratios which reflected that although bravo is working efficiently but it isnt being profitable yet , however, other liquidity ratios which showed that bravo cares about the working capital and perform to increase its liquidity, finally , leverage and other ratios have been calculated to provide sufficient answers to the assessment. .
