dc.description.abstractThis study aims at identifying the degree of practicing of servant leadership by secondary governmental schools principals in West Bank Northern Governorates and its Relationship teachers' professional development from the perspective of principals and teacher . Also, it aims at identifying some study variables like ( gender, position qualification, years of experience , directorate) . For achieving the study purpose, a questionnaire consists of 50 items distributed into two parts; servant leadership and teachers' professional development, which have ten domains; five to the servant leadership )personal traits, traits directed to others, traits directed to mission, traits directed to operations and leadership organizational behavior) . the other five domains are for teachers' professional development ( developing teacher's skills, curricula and teaching methods, teaching process management, human relationships and teacher self-development) . The questionnaire has been developed, distributed among 903 individuals who have been chosen randomly , gathered, codified, entered the computer and statically processed by using the Statistical Package of the Social Science (SPSS). Also, the study tool has been measured for reliability and credibility. The study results showed the following results : 1. A high response on the practice of servant leadership and on its five domains (personal traits, traits directed to others, traits directed to mission, traits directed to operations and leadership organizational behavior). 2. A high response on the teachers' professional development and on its five domains ( developing teacher's skills, curricula and study methods, teaching process management, human relationships and teacher self-development 3. A strong positive relationship at ( α=0.05) level between servant leadership and its relationship to teachers' professional development. 4. Significant differences at ( α=0.05) level among the responses means about the degree of practicing of servant leadership by secondary governmental schools principals in West Bank Northern Governorates and its Relationship teachers' professional development from the perspective of principals and teacher due to gender in favor of females. 5. Significant differences at ( α=0.05) level among the responses means about the degree of practicing of servant leadership by secondary governmental schools principals in West Bank Northern Governorates and its Relationship teachers' professional development from the perspective of principals and teacher due to position in favor of principals. 6. No Significant differences at ( α=0.05) level among the responses means about the degree of practicing of servant leadership by secondary governmental schools principals in West Bank Northern Governorates and its Relationship teachers' professional development from the perspective of principals and teacher due to qualification except for the first domain of servant leadership (personal traits ) and the second one of teachers' professional development ( curricula and teaching methods) in favor of M.A . and more. 7. Significant differences at ( α=0.05) level among the responses means about the degree of practicing of servant leadership by secondary governmental schools principals in West Bank Northern Governorates and its Relationship teachers' professional development from the perspective of principals and teacher due to experience in favor of (More than 10 years). 8. Significant differences at ( α=0.05) level among the responses means about the degree of practicing of servant leadership by secondary governmental schools principals in West Bank Northern Governorates and its Relationship teachers' professional development from the perspective of principals and teacher due to directorate in favor of (Nablus, Qabatia and Tulkarem). According to the study results, several recommendations have been suggested , included the importance of developing training programs , meetings and mutual workshops for both teachers and principals in order to develop their leadership skills .Moreover , the importance of spreading positive norms and conducting more studies about the same subject.en_US
