dc.description.abstract  Energy conscious design of school building can contribute to significant energy saving and improve the students learning environment, the majority of donor countries for school construction projects require the implementation of green standards , it has been reported that Palestine started to enhance the green council in the engineering market even it's not obligatory and only limited for selected projects   The area of interest in this project is to reach the level of indoor quality and environmental comfort regarding many aspects, architectural, structural, mechanical, environmental and electrical.  For this, we will use literature reviews ,questionnaire survey and in-situ measurements in two case studies to analyze and compare results with the results obtained via simulation programs to determine which variables have the greatest impact on the energy consumption and thermal comfort  in the school. Based on these variables a design for school in Nablus considered to be as a near zero energy school will be applied.   The targeted objective is to create future school design to achieve high performance classrooms, moreover to increase the perception of users about the importance of green design. There were many researches that aimed to improve conditions for better learning in schools, but in fact this project is the first of it's kind in Palestine.en
