dc.description.abstractQaryot is a Palestinian village that is located to the southeast of Nablus at a distance of 26 km. A local road connects it to the main road of Nablus - Jerusalem, with a length of 4.5 km. It is bordered on the north by the villages of Talfit and Qablan, and from the south by TurmusAyya, and from the east, the village of Jalud, and from the west, the Allubun Alsharqyeh and Alsawyeh. It rises 780 m above sea level. Qaryot had a population of 2,538 inhabitants in 2017. In this project, the work will be done on designing a water distribution network that meets the population's needs for water (future demand) with the continued growth of the population to approximately 2035. Also, to estimate the total cost of applying a water distribution network. The required information for this project were collected from different sources (Geomolge, Nablus government and Palestinian central bureau of statistics (PCBS)) and these information were used in designing software to design water distribution networks. In water distribution network a Water CAD software was used to design the network it started from drawing the junction and connect between them by pipes and put the reservoir at the highest point, after that, the elevation was defined from contour shapefile, after that, the demand for people was calculated for the year 2035 and added to the software. At the end of design, the network the software was run and the results were collected. In cost estimation , all prices were obtained from local contractors . Using Water CAD and Microsoft Excel quantity surveying and cost estimate was calculated . During the design, some problems were occurred in velocity and pressure. due to low demand the velocity was low and the problem was solved by using 1 inch pipe diameter to increase the velocity (0.3-3m/s) and the other problem was the pressure , the pressure was too low in some areas , so the pump was put to increase the pressure to meet the constrains (20-80 mH2O) and to make sure the water will arrive to all buildings . After run the software It was noticed that there are several pipes that have a velocity lower than 0.3.But it’s accepted since the network used for drinking water and its more than 0.01 m/s. After designing the water distribution network, the cost estimation was calculated and the prices for the quantities are 951,723 $ for steady case and 948,005 $ for EPS.en_US
