Abstract
This report represents the proposed facility master plan for Nablus City for the years (2014-2034). The proposal starts from studying the whole citys water problems and being guided to Khalit Alamod zone that represents the critical zone since, it has many problems as mentioned earlier. After taking Khalit Alamod as a critical zone, thorough analysis was conducted on the zone in order to find the best solution for the existing problems. Then, a multiple criteria decision analysis was done in order to decide the most suitable alternative solution. Using this criteria, the alternative of establishing a gravity flowing network was chosen. The chosen alternative was generalized for the whole city of Nablus taking in consideration the ability to combine two or more zones to one demand area to be fed by gravity from one reservoir located at the highest point in the demand area, considering the elevation difference between the lowest and the highest point to be (70-100m).  The gap of water quantities problem was solved by two actions. The first one was to enhance rain harvesting and the second one was to drill new ground water wells. Network and meter replacement investments were proposed in order to reduce the quantities of UFW. These two investments were considered to be done continuously along the plan lifecycle.  The project investments were distributed along the project life and a cash flow was developed that summarizes the annual costs for the project investments.  The total project cost was 15,057,000 (63,240,000 NIS), dividing this cost on the project life in months and the average households. The cost per month per household can be calculated at 7.35 NIS. This cost is affordable for the customers since Nablus Municipality already charges 6.2 NIS per household. Future graduation projects could consider the analysis of other zones within the city of Nablus and more detailed design for each zone could be developed.
