dc.description.abstract | The warehouse is a building or a place used for storing goods. It is used by manufacturers, importers/exporters, wholesalers, and logistics companies as pre-production or pre-distribution stages or other functions. Most warehouses are using paper-based systems in their activities and operations which causes faults, defects and other problems. Therefore, it’s important for companies to use the recent advancements in technologies to overcome the old fashion of working based on papers to improve the overall performance to increase productivity and optimize processes done in the warehouse. One of these technologies is the Internet of things (IoT) or Industry 4.0 concept which allows manufactures and other companies to transform their systems to become SMART. In this project, 3 cases (Al-Shakaa Company, Sama pharmacy, Al-Khuffash Company) were taken to analysis it’s tracking system, a study of transformation from paper-based system to smart system using RFID and GPS were done, one case has been taken in order to transfer its tracking system to a smart one by making an application which concentrate on RFID and the location of the products using GPS. As a result, providing the application to the company will reduce the number of workers and the inventory process will be easier and more accurate. | en_US |
