| dc.description.abstract | Anyone who follows the conditions of Muslim generations and their behavior today in the Islamic world in general and Palestinian society in particular, realizes the extent of dispersion and distance from the sublime values brought by the Qur’an and mosques. Whereas moral and intellectual deviations have emerged which caused the backwardness of the Islamic nation and its dependence on others. This unfortunate reality prompts every aware person to search for a way to restore the nation to its first era and its fundamental role in leading humanity and creating leaders. The way out of this reality is only by truly returning to Quran and the Sunnah of Messenger Mohammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him), and this return represented in building the Muslim personality, proud of its religion, legislation and values; so that its behavior is from the guidance of Islam and the treasures of its great book (Quran). Since memorization centers today have become a legal and educational necessity in Islamic society. It supports other fields, such as school and family, in purifying and refining the young, protecting them from misguidance and deviation, and preparing them to carry this great trust, preserve it and apply it. Therefore, the Al-Ghiras project, which includes a mosque and a center for memorizing the Holy Qur’an for children, aims to create a Qur’anic generation whose hearts are attached to the mosques. The research includes a general introduction showing the relationship between mosques and memorization centers, a brief explanation of the history of mosques and the evolution of Quran memorization centers— which are a fruit of the mosques' efforts— followed by the project's importance and the need for it. Then the research moves on to case studies, analyzing them to gain insights. After that, I chose the site for the Ghiras Project based on fundamental principles of analysis that make the site as a center for the project and vice versa. The research then discusses the project’s program, setting approximate spaces and understanding the functional relationships, which served as the foundation for the final chapter (architectural design). This chapter presents the final result of the architectural design of the Ghiras Project, including the design concept, architectural drawings, and 3D renderings, with brief explanations for each. | |
