Abstract
The "Matnafas" project embodies an ambitious vision for the future of Palestine after liberation. It aspires to transform an isolated, militarized area—long a symbol of suffering and conflict—into a sustainable cultural and tourist resort that breathes life and hope back into the heart of the homeland. The project aims to reconnect and unify the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the occupied interior through Gaza’s main artery—the road linking Hebron in the West Bank to the heart and center of Gaza—thus reinforcing national unity and highlighting the reclaimed freedom. "Matnafas" is more than just a resort—it is a platform for reviving Palestinian heritage and strengthening cultural identity through an immersive experience that tells visitors the story of the Palestinian people, their suffering, and their resilience over the years. The project also contributes to revitalizing the national economy, with a special focus on supporting the people of Gaza. It offers a tourist destination that blends sustainable design, the beauty of nature, and a unique experience that highlights Palestine’s past, present, and future. The project represents a step toward building a new future filled with hope and life. This research includes a general overview of the project, beginning with a discussion of the history of tourism, followed by the importance of the project and the need for it. It then moves on to an analysis of similar case studies. After that, a site was selected for the project and analyzed from various aspects, including climate, history, and more. Finally, the project program was examined, presenting the approximate areas and functional relationships.
