| dc.description.abstract | Dentilija (The Intelligent Dentist) is a project that aims to help dentists in managing their clinics easily and provides a useful tool that analyzes X-ray images of patients’ teeth which makes diagnosis and treatment easier and faster. The project will focus on two major aspects: ● Administrative part ○ Information of the patients, scheduling of appointments, dental supplies management, billing, multi-clinic/multi-doctor management, reports. ○ Patients/doctors interface ○ Reminders ● Image processing part ○ General X-ray image enhancement and segmentation, filters, cavity or filling status (Automatic detection, size, count, treatment duration prediction, treatment priority, highlighting...etc.), teeth charting. The plan is to build a web application that provides the above parts using the Django framework. OpenCV will be used for the image processing part. Most of the available applications consider the administrations part only, while some other applications have an additional part to view the X-ray images, and only a few of them provide simple image enhancement tools. We believe that this is the first work that provides an intelligent tool to analyze X-ray images for dentists that will help to avoid re-taking x-ray images in case of bad imaging, also it will help to find defects and other features in the images faster and easier which will make the dentist’s work more efficient and less time-consuming. | en_US |
