Abstract
The Management Information Systems (MIS) major plays a very important role in the Management and application of Information Technology and Information Systems in organizations. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for graduate and qualified MIS students. Although there is a lack of understanding of the MIS discipline among Palestinian students at An-Najah National University, Nablus. Therefore, the goal that we seek from this study and this scientific research is to study the challenges and opportunities available to students studying MIS specialization and to collect the opinions and experiences of MIS students using the quantitative research method. The study followed a quantitative research approach based on a survey-using questionnaire. A questionnaire was randomly distributed to students of Management Information Systems at An-Najah National University electronically, and 175 were received, of which 25 were incomplete, leaving 150 valid questionnaires. The results showed those students' abilities, beliefs, and expectations greatly affected students' understanding of the MIS major.
At the end of the research, three main questions will be answered:
• What opportunities and challenges do MIS students face during their studies?
• What is the impact of students' interest in computers and technology on their choice of major?
• What are the required skills for MIS students to succeed in their studies?
