Abstract
The study dealt with analyzing and diagnosing urban spaces in the city of Jenin.
Accordingly, a suitable system was proposed for calculating urban spaces within
the planning criteria and principles required to be provided in order to provide a
healthy, environmental and recreational life for the population.
The study relied in its methodology on the descriptive approach that describes the
situation of urban vacuums, the analytical approach that shows the strengths,
weaknesses, threats and opportunities that characterize the urban vacuums in the
city of Jenin, and finally the deductive approach, which provides proposals and
solutions for developing urban spaces, through information from various library
sources. It is formal, informal and electronic.
The research indicated in its results that there is a shortage of urban spaces and
their insufficiency for city residents, and some neighborhoods are completely
devoid of urban spaces, in addition to the absence of any proposals for urban
spaces in the structural plan used.
Finally, urban spaces were proposed for the city of Jenin based on planning
principles and standards that serve all neighborhoods of the city and enhance the
well-being of individuals
