Abstract
The establishment of a women's center in the city of Nablus aims to create a distinctive urban meeting place that meets the needs of Palestinian women despite the social, cultural, and economic challenges they face, especially in light of the changes that have taken place in the living conditions in Palestine and the living of its people under the yoke of the Israeli occupation. All of this has led to a reduction in the role of women and a decrease in their participation in various fields of life and has had a significant impact on the lives of women in Palestine.
The establishment of a women's center comes as a necessary need to provide a safe and supportive space for women, as they are exposed to psychological and social pressures as a result of the difficult conditions they live in.
The project's objectives are to create an educational and training environment that empowers women in many fields, in addition to organizing cultural and social activities to raise the level of women's participation in society, and also providing services for women that entertain them and provide them with comfort and happiness. The choice of the city of Nablus to host the project is based on its strategic location and ease of access.
The project aims to design a club that respects the surrounding nature and highlights the cultural and social ties in the region. The site is considered a vital determinant to achieve a positive impact, as it enjoys the availability of wide spaces and a strategic location.
The existence of such a project is an important incentive for the empowerment of Palestinian women, and it seeks to achieve a positive impact on her life and raise the level of her participation in various aspects of life, by providing the space and services that meet her economic, cultural, social, and recreational needs in light of the challenges facing the Palestinian people.
To achieve these objectives, the study of the history of women's centers was started, and similar case studies and previous studies were analyzed, and based on these studies and analyzes, the appropriate site was selected and analyzed, in addition to identifying the appropriate program to achieve the project's objectives successfully. After that, the design and planning standards for women's center were analyzed, On this basis, a center was designed that meets all these standards and achieves the goal for which it was designed.
