dc.description.abstract | Building with concrete has become the most widely used building method. Hence, the ingredients for making a concrete mix are very essential and pretty expensive. The cost of the ingredients to make the concrete mix used to build today makes up a large share of the building’s total cost, and the most expensive material in this mix is the Portland cement. The main idea of this project is to reduce the cost of the concrete mix by replacing specific amounts of more expensive materials with less expensive ones, and in this case, we will be reducing the proportion of cement and increasing the proportion of sand. Several samples of concrete mixes will be made with different sand to concrete ratio in each one. Then specific concrete related tests will be conducted in order to find the most economical mix that will still achieve the desired results. | en_US |
