Faculty of science building in king Khalid university located in Saudi Arabia

Abstract

This project is a static structural design for faculty of science in AL Malek  Khalid University located in Saudi Arabia.  This design will be according ACI-318-08.This will be done by using SAP 2000 analysis program with hand calculations used for verification & preliminary design.   Through this project, soil effect was studied by including the real footing with bearing capacity of soil, which represented as a spring model.   The project includes detailed design of columns, slabs and beams depend on the existing loads (dead & live loads).   Finally, a dynamic analysis will be applied in this structure. This study aims to know the behavior of the structure under earthquake loads through specific types of load.
