| dc.description.abstract | The public transport sector in Palestine is one of the most vital sectors in Palestine because of its impact on various aspects of life. According to the transport statistics report published by Palestinian Ministry of Transport in 2017, its contribution of the transport sector to the gross domestic product (at constant prices) during the year 2017 ($ 10,302.2) million, or 2.1% of the value of GDP. The lack of technological support put it in face of threats from private vehicles or private transport companies such as Uber and Careem. Public transportation in Palestine, particularly between the city and the surrounding villages or towns, suffers from several problems led to appearance of conflict with private vehicles. One of the most important problems is when the public transport vehicles in the village roam streets in search of travelers wishing to go to the neighboring city. It may take a long time to search because the driver searches randomly resulting in potentially large losses. On the other hand, the traveler may take a long time waiting for a public vehicle to take him away, because the driver and the traveler do not know where each of them is. In this case passenger prefers to go with private vehicle illegally. This research targets to find out how an app that we are currently working on would improve the public transport for both drivers and passengers and support public transport against challenges. In order to build this application well, we will apply a methodology that leads to best results. First, we will collect the requirements of drivers and people about this issue, and then choose a suitable easy-to-use design. We will also try to use the best available techniques to provide the best service. Then release the beta version to take feedback which help us to produce best result. | en_US |
