Abstract
The land calendar project envisions architecture as a tool of resistance, memory, and community empowerment by proposing an agritourist complex in Battir, whose design integrates educational, recreational, and productive spaces to support the local economy of the villagers around it, thereby resisting land fragmentation and preserving cultural and agricultural heritage. The project is inspired by the experience of the landless worker movement and their innovative approaches to land use so the project includes three main components: agricultural facilities to promote regional agricultural practices and education, communal spaces where visitors can gather, dine, and engage with each other, residential accommodations for those wishing to stay overnight and a network of trails connects the site to the adjacent Wadi Al-Makhrour trail strengthening spatial continuity. Spaces are organized around seasonal use and traditional calendars, creating a living cycle of Community interaction and agricultural production. This research adopts an approach that includes a contextual study, case study, site analysis, and program development, leading to the formulation of a design concept and the final architectural proposal.
