Abstract
This research paper delves into the historical evolution and contemporary significance of shopping centers, providing a comprehensive overview of their emergence and development. The study defines the essence of a shopping center, exploring its multifaceted role in urban landscapes. Focusing on Palestine, with a particular emphasis on Salfit City, the research highlights the critical importance of shopping centers in addressing the community's needs and enhancing the overall quality of life.
Acknowledging the absence of a shopping center in Salfit, the paper underscores the pressing demand for such a facility, shedding light on the challenges faced by residents due to the lack of easily accessible commercial spaces. Two case studies, Shoaxing CTC Mall and Elante Mall, serve as examples for detailed analysis, offering valuable insights and lessons to inform the proposed shopping center in Salfit.
The research conducts a meticulous site analysis for the chosen location in Salfit City, providing a contextual understanding of the area's unique characteristics and potential challenges. Moving forward, the program section thoroughly examines the essential needs and requirements for a shopping center, establishing standards for optimal space design. A detailed table outlines the various spaces needed for the project, categorizing each area and specifying the activities to be accommodated within.
This comprehensive research seeks to contribute to the urban development discourse by proposing a well-informed and tailored shopping center for Salfit City. By addressing the specific needs and challenges of the community.
