Abstract
Beyond the basic purpose of restaurants to provide food and drink, restaurants have historically fulfilled a human need for connection and shaped social relations. and it's always played an essential role in the business, intellectual and artistic life of a thriving society. And with the high levels of customers’ expectations, restaurants development becomes a necessity to keep up with the expectations, this will be by finding the challenges that stands in the way of restaurants development and solving it. The main objective of this project is to design a restaurant that is structurally safe and environmentally comfortable. And try to find a solution for the challenges the restaurants face. One of these challenge is to join between view, open spaces and flexible area from one side with heating and cooling requirements and with the structural requirements from the other side. There are many aspects we have taken it in consideration and discuss when designing a restaurant. Such as architectural aspect that involves finding flexible area, structural aspect and the challenges that faces from long spans and columns to drop beams, mechanical aspect and HVAC system and ventilation problems, electrical aspect and wiring system and finally the environmental aspect that includes lighting distribution, acoustic system and solar design. Our methodology will include employment the results that have been extracted from the first project as a standard to design a new restaurant according to the correct rules The next level of the design will be appropriate computer simulation programs such as Dialux, Design builder, Insul and Ecotect. This is a similar project but what makes it special and unique is the new idea of making the architectural, structural and environmental aspects integrated by joining the idea of flexible spaces and large spans issue with the heating and cooling requirements.
