| dc.description.abstract | The Smart Land Marketplace Platform is a full-stack web application designed to digitize and streamline the buying and selling of land properties. The platform addresses a significant gap in the Palestinian real estate market, where land transactions are largely conducted through informal, paper-based, or unverified channels that expose buyers and sellers to fraud, inefficiency, and lack of transparency. The system was developed using a modern technology stack comprising React.js and Tailwind CSS on the frontend, Node.js with Express.js on the backend, MySQL as the relational database, and Socket.io for real- time communication. The platform implements JSON Web Token (JWT) authentication with role-based access control for three user types: Normal users, Lawyers, and administrators. Key features include verified property listings with image galleries and interactive Leaflet maps, a real-time bidirectional chat system between buyers and sellers, a structured appointment scheduling system for land visits, a real-time notification system, a favorites module, an ollama intelligent chatbot for user assistance, and a complete multilingual interface supporting both English and Arabic with full Right-To-Left layout support. Security was addressed through bcrypt password hashing, parameterized SQL queries to prevent injection attacks, XSS sanitization middleware, per-route rate limiting, and Helmet.js HTTP security headers. Identity verification during registration was implemented through a multi-field form requiring a four-part legal name, national ID number, date of birth, and an uploaded ID document with automated client-side quality validation. The resulting platform provides a transparent, secure, and accessible marketplace that reduces fraud risk, eliminates geographic barriers, and empowers both land owners and buyers across the Palestinian territories and beyond. | |
