| dc.description.abstract | The Yacht and Fishermen’s Club – Deir al-Balah is a coastal architectural development on the Mediterranean shoreline of Gaza, designed to create a world-class destination that merges luxury, symbolism, and recreational amenities. The project draws inspiration from the story of Prophet Yunus (Dha Al-Nun) and his journey inside the whale. This symbolic narrative is translated into a sculptural architectural form: the central hotel structure abstractly resembles a whale, with rib-like elements and layered lighting creating an immersive spatial experience — a journey from darkness into light. The project consists of three main components: • A luxury hotel in the center (symbolizing the whale) • A yacht marina and club to the left • A golf club and leisure zone to the right Integrated with fine dining, water features, relaxation areas, and panoramic views, the project aims to attract tourism, stimulate the local economy, and culturally revitalize the relationship between the people and the sea in Gaza. | |
