Abstract
The Smart Saver project is a new online platform that aims to unite the businesses especially the restaurants and cafes with their target markets i.e. students and others by using a smart group coupon system. Its idea lies in the unlocking of offers when enough users sign in, with the emphasis on joint interaction and the desire of users to share deals with their friends to open them.
The project will help to optimise the effectiveness of the promotional campaigns and engage more users in the activity of the store as it will enable the stores to make bespoke offers depending on the type of the user. Automatic user segmentation is done during registration based on email domain (either student or general user) so that both segments would receive relevant offers.. It also has a convenient interface, using which one can browse the offers according to the location, type of service, and type of user, as well as quickly retrieve the coupon codes to redeem them.
The system was built on WordPress platform, combined with custom code to expand the functionality and fulfill the needs of the particular project. It leverages premium plugins like WPForms, as well as custom PHP and JavaScript code to introduce essential functionality, like user classification, intelligent coupon creation, custom user interfaces, and conditional offer activation. Being a hybrid between the ready-made tools and custom development, it was possible to achieve high flexibility, easier management, and good performance on a wide range of devices with a responsive design.
The project encountered various difficulties in its initial phases such as; achieving a sufficient number of active users, the correct identification of the students and convincing the merchants to join the program. This was handled by specific promotional activities within the universities and social networks, providing free trial offers to the stores, as well as introducing intelligent sharing options such as invite links and automated messages. To sum up, Smart Saver is a scaleable and future-focused platform, which provides a smart digital solution, incorporating the modern technology, interactive marketing, intelligent user segmentation. It is already a strategic asset to businesses and users, and can grow in the future through integration with schools and colleges and commercial affiliates.
