Abstract
An ad hoc network is a temporary network operated by autonomous nodes that may connect with one another without the need for an established network infrastructure or a central base station. This kind of network is not resistant to malicious node attacks for a variety of reasons, including dynamic changes in network architecture, node confidence in one another, and the lack of a permanent substructure for analyzing node behavior. The black hole attack is an example of a denial-of-service attack that targets a reactive routing protocol and disrupts routing services, resulting in low packet delivery rates. This project proposes a technique for improving the security of the ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol against black hole attack in multiple connection networks. Also, due to the battery energy constraints in MANET, energy efficiency is an important factor while designing ad hoc wireless networks. So as far as possible, our aim is to reduce the number of duplicated RREQ packets. The suggested energy-based and security approaches were tested using network simulator 2.35. The results show that the proposed methods outperformed the typical AODV in terms of packet delivery ratio, throughput, and delay.
